Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how JOSHUA TREE SOFTWARE LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and protects information when you use GiveMeAJob, available at givemeajob.ai (the “Service”). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on the Service.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data. When you create an account: your email address, name (if provided), authentication method, and account settings.
  • Resume content. The resumes, cover letters, outreach emails, job descriptions, and other documents and text you create, import, or edit through the Service.
  • Interview data. If you use the Interview Copilot: audio from your system and (with your permission) microphone, its transcription into text, screenshots you choose to capture, any additional context you provide, and the resulting transcripts and suggested answers.
  • Job tracker data. Companies, roles, dates, notes, and other information you enter in the job tracker.
  • Guest drafts. Content created in anonymous guest sessions, stored temporarily and automatically deleted on expiry (see section 7).
  • Product analytics. Limited, self-hosted event data such as page views, funnel steps, and feature usage. Events contain no document content; where user-linked, they are internal to your account and not shared externally.
  • Abuse-prevention data. For anonymous guest sessions, we store salted, hashed values of your IP address and limited browser signals so we can enforce per-device limits. The raw values are not stored and hashes cannot be reversed by us.
  • Support data. If you contact support, the contents of your message.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service; to authenticate you; to generate the documents and answers you request; to process payments; to send transactional email (such as verification links); to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse; and to understand aggregate product usage. We do not use your content or interview data to advertise to you, and we do not share it with data brokers.

4. Third-party processors

To provide the Service, we share information with the following providers, each of which processes data under its own terms and privacy policy:

  • OpenAI— powers resume generation, tailoring, import parsing, document drafting, and the interview copilot. Resume text, interview audio and its transcription, screenshots, and code questions are sent to OpenAI to produce the features you request. Their handling of that data is governed by OpenAI’s own terms and policies; we do not control and make no promises about OpenAI’s independent retention or model-training practices.
  • Resend — delivers transactional email such as account verification links. We provide your email address for this purpose.
  • Stripe — processes subscription and credit-pack payments. Payment card details go directly to Stripe; we do not store them.
  • Cloudflare — its Turnstile service performs bot protection checks on registration and guest sessions.
  • Walter Writes AI — processes selected document text when you use the humanize feature and the AI-detection scan.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers— our cloud hosting and database providers store the Service’s data.

5. AI processing

The core features of the Service depend on sending your content to third-party AI providers. This means your resume content, interview audio and transcripts, and related inputs will be processed outside our systems under those providers’ terms. Do not submit information to the Service that you are not authorized to process this way, and do not use the Service in violation of any confidentiality obligation you have to others. Only you can evaluate whether the Service is appropriate for your circumstances.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Service uses strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in (a session cookie), remember your language and theme preferences, store in-progress drafts and workspace state, and support the bot-protection check. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Data retention

  • Accounts and content. Retained while your account is active. On request to delete your account, we delete your account and its associated content.
  • Guest drafts. Automatically deleted approximately 30 days after creation (a short claim grace period applies).
  • Interview transcripts. Retained while your account is active; deleted on request.
  • Abuse-prevention hashes. Retained only as long as needed to enforce per-device limits.
  • Transaction records. Payment records retained as required by tax and accounting rules.

We may also retain limited information where necessary for legal claims, fraud prevention, or compliance with law.

8. Your choices and rights

You may access, correct, or delete your account and its content, export your resumes at any time through the Service, opt out of guest-session creation (simply don’t use the wizard as a guest), and contact us at privacy@contact.givemeajob.ai with any privacy request, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are located outside the United States, note that your information is processed in the United States.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including encryption in transit and at rest for stored data, secrets management, and scoped access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice for material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
